How to Clean & Maintain Your Craftsman Series Vape (Step-by-Step)

A neglected Craftsman vape produces burnt flavours, weaker hits, and dies sooner than it should. The good news: maintenance takes 5 minutes a week and triples the lifespan. Here's the exact routine I use.

The 5-Minute Weekly Routine

  1. Detach the pod โ€” pull straight up, never twist.
  2. Empty residual e-liquid (use a paper towel โ€” don't pour back into the bottle).
  3. Wipe pod walls with isopropyl alcohol on a cotton bud. Avoid the mouthpiece silicone.
  4. Clean battery contacts โ€” dry cotton bud on the metal contacts where the pod sits.
  5. Air-dry for 5 minutes, refill, reattach. Done.

This stops gunk build-up on the coil and keeps your battery contacts clean for consistent power delivery.

Monthly Deep Clean

  1. Remove the pod and let it soak in warm water with a drop of dish soap for 10 minutes.
  2. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
  3. Dry overnight on a clean towel โ€” moisture inside the pod causes spitback.
  4. Inspect the coil for browning. If it's dark and tastes burnt, replace it (don't try to "clean" a coil).

When to Replace Coils

  • Burnt taste persists after a deep clean
  • Visible discolouration on the wick
  • Reduced vapour production at same battery level
  • Approximately every 10-14 days with daily use

Craftsman replacement coils run ยฃ8-12 for a pack of 3. Stocking up saves the "out of coils" emergency.

Battery Care

  • Don't fully discharge โ€” charge before it dies completely
  • Don't leave it plugged in overnight after full charge
  • Avoid heat โ€” never leave it in a hot car
  • Use the supplied USB-C cable when possible (cheaper cables can damage circuitry)

Five minutes a week. That's all your Craftsman needs to last 18+ months instead of 6. Skip maintenance and you'll be back here shopping for a new device. Small habit, big payoff.
